I have failed to make any progress trying to change my profile picture.

I managed to upload a picture to a post; I even managed to edit a post and add a second photo.

but my profile picture remains stubbornly ugly. … . … . … . and non-me!

@ianmorland is it possible to import my profile picture from the main site? You imported my profile description …

Firefox on Windows 10 PC.

I am pleased for you.

However I have the option of Safari (on latest iOS) on an iPad.

Not android.
Not Windows 10.
Not Firefox.

And the problem is new.

I changed the picture fine in August and in October.

I have tried and tried on my iPad with no success. I never have accessed the preview site on any other device, and I rarely use the main site except on the iPad. I don’t really like trying to use internet on the Windows Lumia 640 (I use it as Internet radio, and to access dashboard, but not Community, and it’s not easy to use internet on it anyway, as it is Windows 8.1 mobile and no longer supported, so it is not easy to use.)

I can access Community on my laptop but I don’t generally use it except with IE to do certain actions (like upload barcodes for Shop&Scan), and only started using Edge for a few things, but don’t really like it much.

I guess it is a bug @ianmorland as I have got nowhere trying daily to upload a profile picture. I haven’t tried changing my profile picture on the main site yet, but don’t really want to mess that up! _{_🤡}

Unless someone here can try this and fail on an ipad, we can’t assume it’s a bug, Apple iOS can be a pain at times.
Sorry I can’t do more testing than I’ve already done, as we prefer superior Android kit 😉

Thought I’d let you know that giffgaff don’t support IE at all anymore, so expect issues if you try to use it to access giffgaff pages 😛

You have to be careful when doing the cropping as dragging your finger outside the pop-up closes it.

I only use it for Shop&Scan to upload barcodes from my ‘clicker’ because that is the only way to upload my barcodes at present.

I don’t generally use anything but my iPad on giffgaff, since it is generally the easiest option. I wasn’t saying I use IE for giffgaff; just that that is what I am usually using on my laptop. Actually, lots of things work fine on IE which are not ‘officially supported’ - just saying. _{_🤡}

It does not even give me the option to crop as the picture never loads on the profile.

How can it be a ‘FAT FINGER’ problem when the picture never even shows - let alone be able to attempt to crop it? It just acts as if I never asked the chosen picture to upload.

I changed the profile on the preview site several times in the two original iterations I have tried. Last time (October?) I had the Gerber Baby picture. _{_🤡}

I was not suggesting that you had fat fingers 😉
You can’t be the only person on here with and ipad 🤯
I had no issues uploading and cropping using my PC and my phone so the fundamentals must be working. Where the mystery is, is why you can’t get your picture to upload.
I uploaded jpegs on both occasions.
One was small low res graphic the other was a large photo taken using and uploaded by phone.
Have you tried uploading different images or are you using the same one every time?

I have tried a variety of images, including the image I am currently using on the main site. I have tried taking a self-portrait on the camera. (But that can give an even bigger image tbh).

I can upload a normal screenshot to a post if the menu shows:
This menu shows when I click on my avatar and the avatar goes black with an editing pencil on it:

I scroll back through my ‘Moments’ or ‘Recently Added’ and choose ANY photo.

But nothing happens _{as far as the picture which I have chosen appearing} is concerned.

Touching the screen somewhere else again just resets the page to the ugly avatar without the editing pencil showing.

It is frustrating. Can you show me what screen I should be seeing after choosing a photo? I know something is missing. Something should be happening when I choose a photo. But it is NOT.

Lost my pic again. At least the ‘J’ looks better than the default avatar!

I forgot I didn’t have the picture on the iPad and that it wouldn’t work and tried to change the photo. It didn’t work. I then decided to try to remove the avatar and removing it worked this time.

@mrjeeves has told me that IE isn’t supported. I haven’t even managed to get normal Community on the Windows Phone (so I no longer try). So I could try the laptop, but not sure it would solve anything?

Okay. I have just used my husband’s refurbished Samsung phone to get onto preview site. But it is not managing to let me login.

And the password is correct, I am just not showing it in the picture. Trying to login on main site is giving a different error message:

Okay, I have logged in on my laptop on Edge and found a family photo from my teens, cropped my family out of the picture and used it.
