As part of upgrading to v1.1.1, many of the extensions we use in the giffgaff community have also received updates, and in some cases new features. While the list below is not comprehensive, we’ve picked out the most obvious and will add to it as testing progresses here on Preview.

Best Answers - in the “Help and support” tag there is a new filtering option that allows you to view only discussions that already have Best Answers, or only discussions that do not have Best Answers. It currently defaults to showing all discussions regardless of Best Answer status.
Post Editor - several changes here. The most obvious is that when you use Markdown for things like Bold or Italics, the new composer will immediately convert it. Note: it is not a full “WYSIWYG” composer (eg Spoilers don’t convert), but it is a lot closer. There are also some new (or easier to use) things like in-line spoilers (they look like this and are revealed after being clicked/tapped).
Night Mode - the extension is enabled on Production. There are likely to be a number of visual bugs as we’ve not tested it extensively. Feel free to make use of Night Mode and report any issues you discover.
My Media - there is now a new “My Media” section in your profile that contains any images or other files that you have previously uploaded to the community. You can also access these files directly from the post editor using the My Media icon in the toolbar (icon to be reviewed as it’s the same as for the Upload button)

Nice one, but I’m thinking perhaps there should be a distinction once clicked so that you can still identify the “answer” afterwards.

Perhaps instead of onclick="removeAttribute('class')"have something like onclick="setAttribute('newClass')" with a different shade of grey to the rest of the text.

But it went wrong slightly when I tried to edit the previous message to insert the top quote (which wasn’t initially there) in front of the next quote (which was originally right at the top of the message when first posted.

As far as I can see, when editing a message which begins with a quote, it’s not currently possible to paste anything before that quote without it becoming part of the quote.

alex_w Just spotted this update, the BA filter is a great idea for anyone wanting to just look for issues that may not have been resolved yet.

My Media is something people have been asking for since we swapped over to Flarum so that’s a great step forward, as well as changing the icon, it might be worth moving it along the toolbar a bit, it’s currently sat where the upload button usually is so could cause confusion for people used to just clicking the second button.

Looks like there’s a lot of new features in the pipeline and hopefully the transition to the main community will go smoothly 🙂

As expected the list of uploads was empty so I’ve grabbed an image for testing, that adds to the media list fine and is automatically selected, but the two buttons are just black boxes so it’s not clear which is upload or cancel, although the hover tooltip did work for upload.
